Hallacy’s documentary films have been screened at international film festivals, universities and at the United Nations. She has expertise in pre-production research, field production and post-production management.
Hallacy launches distribution strategies through social media, broadcast and public events to present stories to educational and public audiences.
Hallacy develops relationships with her subjects to open their worlds through her lens; she can interview government ministers and slum dwellers and get a story. Her cross-cultural communications skills are an asset to covering issues from refugees to labor rights to people living with HIV.
Based in Southeast Asia for decades, she worked with AsiaWorks Television, a regional production company to produce feature news for global broadcasters and advocacy videos for United Nations agencies and international NGOs.
Hallacy directs InSIGHT OUT!, an award-winning photo storytelling program that trains youth in conflict and post-disaster areas to tell their own stories. Her role entails grant writing, staff supervision, budget management and donor relations.
